Upcoming parent workshop on dyslexia
Kent County SECAC Parent Workshop: Strategies for Dyslexia link

CHESTERTOWN — The Kent County Public Schools Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee is hosting a parent workshop this month about dyslexia.

"Strategies for Dyslexia" will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 in the media center at Kent County Middle School in Chestertown.

The presentation also will be offered virtually.

This workshop will help parents, caregivers and educators learn more about dyslexia.

Dyslexia affects every aspect of life. It is estimated that 15 to 20% of the population has dyslexia or another reading disability. They struggle with reading, writing, remembering, listening or expressing themselves clearly.

This presentation will include strategies, tips and resources to help children with dyslexia navigate for success in the classroom and beyond.

Pizza and childcare will be available for in-person attendees.
