The School Resource Officer (SRO) is a sworn deputy in the Kent County Sheriff's Office whose primary function is to assure a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty and administrators at Kent County High School and Kent County Middle School. The SRO serves as a law enforcement officer and liaison between the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and students, parents, teachers and administrators at both schools. Our SROs attend several weeks of training for different school-based situations. SROs are based at the schools.

Additional safety support is provided to our schools by the Kent County Sheriff's Office, Chestertown Police Department and Rock Hall Police Department.

The Kent County Public Schools tip line can be found on the school system's app. On the dropdown menu, the tip line is listed under "Tools." The Kent County Public Schools app is available for free through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Search for "Kent County Public Schools."

The Maryland Center for School Safety has multiple ways to report tips anonymously. The Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line is an anonymous reporting system and tool to proactively address harmful situations and help students who need it. By using a variety of communication modes to support the reporting and routing of tips, the Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line empowers the citizens of Maryland to create a culture of preparedness, prevention and school safety for our students.

Bullying, harassment or intimidation is serious and will not be tolerated. If you are a student victim, the parent/guardian or close adult relative of a student victim or a school staff member and wish to report an incident of alleged bullying, harassment or intimidation, complete the form linked below.
